Home

The score, and what you owe

The team score and the race to the Cup sit at the top of every screen, so nobody has to ask where things stand. Below that, each player only sees what they still need to do.

It starts earning its keep before anyone tees off. From the day your app goes live, the home page counts down to the first tee, and the group has somewhere to start winding each other up.

You will not need me on tour.

Your captains get full control inside the app. If something changes on the morning of Day 2, they change it, from the first tee, on a phone.

🎯 Points per match, your call
Captains set what a match is worth. A doubles match worth two, one banked by each winning partner? Singles worth one? Whatever your tour has always done.
⭐ Bonus points
Set a target, award bonus points to whichever side hits it. They land in the standings with everything else.
🎓 An honorary member with a head start
Somebody who is not playing can still be scoring for a side, handing them a points head start before a ball is struck. Their card sits on the home page with their photo, and the head start is a captain's switch, off until they turn it on.
🐶 Dog licences
Set the threshold, and the app tracks every player who owes one all tour, flags it beside their name, and hands out Top Dog at the end.
🧮 Countback that settles ties
Level scores are split by best net on your hardest course first, so a shared place has to be genuinely shared. Tap a name to see who edged whom.
🏅 Prizes however you run them
Tour-long trophies, a prize a day, and booby prizes for the ones nobody wants. Each stays provisional until a captain marks it final.
📜 Tours played, and an alumni list
Everyone's tour count sits beside their name, and the players who are not teeing it up this year keep theirs on a roll of honour.

Who is behind it

This started as my own tour's problem.

Same group, same weekend, six years running. And for five of those years one poor sod spent it hunched over a laptop adding up cards while everybody else was at the bar. The scores lived in a WhatsApp thread. The standings lived in somebody's head, and the somebody was usually wrong.

So I built this for us. Not as a product, as a fix. It ran our tour before it was ever for sale, and it is still the app my own group uses, which means every part of it exists because something went wrong on a Friday morning and needed sorting.

I started it on my own. There is a small team on it now, and I am still the one who builds your tour and the one on the phone during it. Your invoice and your EFT will read Comfycurve (Pty) Ltd, which is the company behind MyGolfTourApp, so that name should not surprise you when it lands.

If you need it sooner than that, additional charges may apply. More than 24 players or more than 6 rounds may also cost more, and I will quote you once I know the detail. A round of changes means one list of tweaks from you, done in one go; anything that is broken gets fixed for free and does not count as a round. Questions

The questions I get asked.

What do you actually need from me?

A short setup sheet: the tour name, the dates, your two team names, who your captains are, and how many rounds you are playing. Players and handicaps are useful but not urgent, your captains can load those themselves. Most people fill it in over a coffee.

Does everyone have to download an app?

No, and this is the part people are most relieved about. There is no app store and nothing to install. Everyone opens their own private link once and adds it to their home screen, where it sits with a proper icon and opens full screen like any other app. iPhone or Android, it works the same.

Half our group is hopeless with technology.

Then they are the group this was built for. There is no email address to hand over, no password to invent and no username to forget. Everyone signs in by tapping their own name and typing a numeric PIN, and that is the whole of it. If somebody gets logged out on the Saturday morning, they open the same page, tap their name, type their PIN, and they are back where they were.

The app also explains itself, with a separate guide for captains, so nobody has to be taught how to use it. In practice the only thing a player has to do all weekend is type their score into a box.

Can we play a different format each day?

Yes. Your captains set the format for each day themselves, singles or doubles, matchplay or medal, gross or net, and they can change it before the round if the weather makes a fool of the plan. The points a match is worth and any bonus points are also theirs to set.

Does it handle the money?

No money moves through the app, and that is deliberate. What it does is keep the record: what your tour fee covers, the fines, and the eagle and hole-in-one pots.

For the settling up I can set up a Splitwise group for your tour and link it straight from the app, so everything on top of the fee is tracked in one place and nobody is doing arithmetic on a napkin on the Sunday. Your organiser still collects the tour fee the way they always have.

How many players and rounds can it handle?

The prices on this page assume up to 24 players. Tell me your numbers and how many rounds you are playing when you enquire and I will confirm it before you commit to anything. If it is bigger than that, I will quote you.

Can people who are not playing follow it?

Yes. Anyone you want can have a view-only link: the ones who could not make it this year, partners at home, the one who is injured. They see the scores as they land but cannot enter anything. If a captain calls somebody up on the day, they become a full player under the same name.

What if something breaks in the middle of our tour?

You phone me and I fix it. That is my problem, not yours, and it does not use up any of your rounds of changes. I am on hand at reasonable hours across the whole weekend, and it is a web app, so a fix reaches every player the moment I make it, with nobody needing to update anything.

I am one person, not a 24 hour call centre, so if something goes wrong at two in the morning it gets sorted in the morning. Anything during golf or at a reasonable hour in the evening, you will get me.

What happens to our results when the tour is over?

Your app stays up for 60 days after the last day. Inside that window you decide whether you want "Keep it live". If you do, the results stay and next year's tour is rolled over ready for you. If you do not, I send you a PDF of your final results and awards so your group keeps the record either way.

What if I look at it and change my mind?

Then you walk away and owe nothing. You see your own app, built with your teams and your courses in it, before any money moves. Once it is approved, paid for and handed over the fee is not refundable, because it was built for your group and cannot be sold to anyone else.
